dataspot. Academic Program
The Academic Program from dataspot. makes our software available free of charge to students, trainees and teachers. This gives rise to exciting projects at universities and technical colleges – practical, innovative and future-oriented.
Even during your training, you can use dataspot. as a modern tool—and thanks to a free license, put it to productive use right away.

Our mission: Promoting young talents
We accompany young people on their journey to becoming pioneers in data excellence – and actively support them along the way. dataspot. employees are already involved as lecturers at universities and further education institutions.
Perhaps you will meet us soon in a lecture or seminar.
With the Academic Programme, we are going one step further: students and participants from across the DACH region receive a free dataspot. licence so they can use the software directly in their studies.
Hands-on learning in your studies - with the opportunity to embrace Data Excellence from day one.
Three universities leading the way – Vienna, Linz, Steyr
In the 2024/25 academic year, dataspot. will already be used in teaching at three universities:
- FH der WKW (Vienna): Master's programme in Digital Innovation
- Johannes Kepler University (Linz): Master's programme in Digital Business Management
- FH Upper Austria (Steyr): Bachelor's programme in Prozessmanagement & Business Intelligence
In addition, dataspot. is also used in the Data Excellence course, which is offered as part of the FH Upper Austria Electives. This allows students not only to acquire theoretical knowledge, but also to work directly on practical projects and get to know the software in a real-world context. A joint project with the City of Linz is also currently underway, giving students the opportunity to use dataspot. in practice in cooperation with a public institution.
Even during their studies, participants gain valuable experience with dataspot.—a clear advantage for their professional future.
Thanks to dataspot., students gain practical experience in metadata management. We are currently launching a joint project with the City of Linz: a dashboard for greenhouse gas monitoring data – a perfect introduction to real-world applications.

Whether it’s a course or a project—dataspot. makes it possible.
dataspot. opens up many opportunities for students, universities and educational institutions:
Datasets can be easily documented and it is possible to track how data is prepared, transformed and processed at any time.
Content from business administration and computer science is brought together so that business processes can be modelled and presented transparently.
Knowledge is applied directly in practical projects, such as the development of business data models with partner companies
These are just some of the many ways to use dataspot.

Would you like to use dataspot. in your studies or further education – or give your students access to it?
