With the introduction of computer science support, the modeling of information systems from a data and object point of view has decisively gained in importance. Storing data about operational objects is no longer limited to a more or less clever arrangement of card indexes, but involves a rather complex structuring of a large number of different classes of data stocks. The design of data and object models must meet many requirements. First, users must understand such a model if they are to be able to use it efficiently in practical operation. Second, such models must be implementable on the computer; they must therefore satisfy demands for precision and unambiguity.
