Master data describes the essential properties or characteristics of real objects and is therefore one of the most important basic data of a company. Master data is data that is used company-wide, frequently and across different processes and IT systems. For such data with high relevance for the correct operation of a company, it is advantageous for data users if it is consistent, accessible, reliable and trustworthy at all times.
