What is cross-client metadata for?

For large organizations to be able to roll out data governance across the board, two requirements must be met: First, it must be possible to consistently map complex corporate structures - in the sense of group management/holding company, national companies and other entities - in the metadata. Second, collaboration between the entities must be supported. And this must be done in a way that is consistent with the concept of the data governance organization. In release 3.2 of dataspot. we have implemented these requirements by means of a unique multi-client capability.

Harmonized data view

In the past, different organizations within a group or group of companies often had very different data models. The reason for this can be different business models, different product and service offerings, but also different markets and legislation. In order to create a group-wide business standard that results in synergy effects, there are increasingly harmonization initiatives through specialized data models. Since "harmonized data views" does not mean "unified data views", there is a need for some to make individual additions to business objects, attributes, metrics, data uses or systems in the metadata. This is now possible with the new cross-client metadata usage feature.

Data structures now at the push of a button

...AND also immediately under governance. This is now possible with the new JdbcMetadataConnector . Metadata can be easily imported from databases into the dataspot. Software and synchronized. When matching, the workflow status can be controlled individually per action, so the metadata is automatically integrated into Data Governance.
