Importing data structures with the dataspot. JdbcMetadataConnector

For an end-to-end data excellence  approach, it is essential that the data structures from technical data models are also available in dataspot. Both the Golden Source and the SPOT must be available for mapping transformations and brought under governance. The JdbcMetadataConnector enables a direct connection with data sources and thus also an automated alignment of the extracted metadata with dataspot.

The JdbcMetadataConnector establishes a connection to the source database whose metadata is extracted and a connection to dataspot. in order to create or update the corresponding data models. Essentially, the definitions of tables, columns, data types, relationships, etc. are read from the catalog of the source database and mapped as corresponding data models and assets in dataspot.
The JdbcMetadataConnector can be used to connect with all common databases.

And this is how the dataspot works. JdbcMetadataConnector:

  • The JdbcMetadataConnector connects to any Jdbc-enabled SQL database via JDBC.
  • Relevant metadata is extracted and mapped as corresponding assets in dataspot.
  • The program is not only suitable for the initial import of metadata into dataspot., but also for the regular and ongoing synchronization of structures of technical data models.
  • The behavior for updated assets is individually configurable per action,
thus new, changed and deleted data is set to the desired workflow status in dataspot.
and thereby automatically integrated into data governance.

Cross-tenant metadata - THE highlight

Our new dataspot. release includes the unique cross-tenant use of metadata, enabling actual collaboration across multiple organizations (organizational units) for the first time.
